The Stewardship Program for time, talent and treasure.
Pastoral Manual. Section A-5:
Stewardship: Every parish in the archdiocese is to be a stewardship parish. The
Archdiocesan Stewardship Office is available to assist parishes in implementing a
stewardship process. (Bishop's Letter 7/94)
Stewardship:
Pastroal Manual. Section A-6:
General Concept: It is important to properly instruct parishioners in the theological
basis for stewardship as a way of life. Stewardship is the wise use of all that we are
and have, knowing that who we are and what we are becoming comes from God.
One day God will ask us to give an account for the stewardship of time, talent and
treasure that He has entrusted to us. No matter how great the financial needs of a
parish, it is more important that each parishioner return to God a truly grateful
share of time, talent and treasure in gratitude for His blessings. Stewardship really
is another way of worshiping, praising and thanking God. It is more important that
parishioners satisfy their need to share their treasure with the parish than it is for the
parish to have its needs met. The Bishop has asked all parishes to establish a
stewardship program. Parishes may use the one developed by the Archdiocesan
Stewardship Office or one of their own choosing, if it meets the criteria established
by the Stewardship Committee. (BL 3/3/87)
